Impact of Music in our Daily Lives.
Hello My Lovely Readers,
I am here again with this intriguing topic of the impact of music in our daily lives, be it Christian or Circular music. I find it interesting because it is said that music is food to the soul. So, if it is food to the soul, wouldn’t you rather choose something elevating and stimulating, wouldn’t you evaluate to know if it is worth listening to. This is very essential because some of the music we listen to can actually harm our spirit and not having music as part of your life hm-mm… means another thing all together.
Let me start by asking what type of music you would rather listen to when happy, sad, anxious, nervous, relaxing, dinning, exercising, depressed and feeling alone etc. I am sure to get answers like; hip hop, rock, gospel, R&B etc. Yes, different struck for different people and some might say; “I can’t listen to music when I’m down”. We all feel the same way at times, but trust me “That is when you need it”. I am sure that if most of the people all over the world who at one point in their lives got fed up and decided to commit suicide had listened to a very beautiful song full of hope and encouragement, might not have ended their lives. In the world today, so many are going through hard times physically and mentally. Trust me on this, if you can find your way to a good music, you are definitely on your way to recovery. Music is therapeutic, its’ impact can not be compromised if you listen to the right one.
Next to the Word of God, the noble art of music is the greatest treasure in the world. By Martin Luther
I stopped listening to music for a very long time (close to a year), not even to sing a song. Unbelievable! Right? It was really a difficult period. One Saturday morning, as I woke up rolling on my bed I picked up my phone, didn’t have anything in mind to do just randomly checking. Then I got into my music library, I scrolled up and down but to be honest, I wasn’t in the mood but something caught me at one point, a music by Cece Winans “Jesus you’re Beautiful” though I couldn’t click the play button but I laid there saying “Jesus your beautiful to me”. I already knew the song anyway! Cece Winans is my ICON. I love her descriptive techniques of God and his Love. After some days, I went back to play that song, I got encouraged. Believe me! That is how spirit filled Cece Winans’s songs are, it is like a reminder that you are still very much-loved by God no matter what. I have been off music and I was not sure if I could see anything new from her or any other gospel artist. Randomly checking out anything that will bless my soul on YouTube, I stumbled into her new Big Bang Album ” LET THEM FALL IN LOVE” released since February 2017. I jumped into Amazon right away to get it.
People! Each song on that album had a powerful message but my favorite was “Never have to be Alone”. It has kept me going and I constantly remind myself that God loves me and cares for me, no matter the situation, I am not alone. Even when I thought he left, he was beside me all along just that I chose to look behind and around the obstacles of life hoping I could do it all alone, instead of looking forward and upward to him. Therefore I urge you my Friends to fill your soul with heavenly things
Philippians 4:8 – Finally brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are lovely whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy meditate on these things.
